About
Our Story
The Queer Belonging Project started with a simple recognition:
LGBTQ+ and Two-Spirit folks in rural Eastern Oregon often feel isolated— not because the love isn't here, but because the spaces to gather haven't existed yet. Rather than copy what works in cities, we set out to build something that reflects who we actually are:
close-knit, neighborly, and proud of where we live.
Our Mission
The Queer Belonging Project cultivates friendship, belonging, and community for LGBTQ+ and Two-Spirit people in rural Eastern Oregon by creating welcoming spaces to gather, learn, celebrate, and care for one another.
Our Vision
A rural Eastern Oregon where every LGBTQ+ person knows they belong, has meaningful community, and can thrive close to home.
